The MacBook Air family is a type of Apple ultraportable Macintosh mobile computing.

The first-generation MacBook Air would be a 13.3"-only model, previously promoted as the World's Thinnest Notebook, introduced at the Macworld Conference & Expo on January 15, 2008. It featured a customIntel Merom CPU and Intel GMA graphics. The MacBook Air has no user-replaceable parts. The flash memory and battery are enclosed within the casing, with RAM soldered to the logic board. Battery could be replaced using normal screwdrivers, although it is unclear whether this method would void the computer's warranty. Included in the out-of-warranty service, Apple purports to replace the battery for a small fee.

This years revision includes two speakers for stereo audio while earlier versions have one speaker located under the keyboard.
